Scenes from Infinity EP pt I
Scenes From Infinity was written at both the end and the beginning of a chapter - the year before I got married. The songs all centre around coming to terms with time passing. It’s complicated to know where you are in the timeline of your life, I often feel like I’m too early or too late for everything. I felt too young to get married and like I had been with my partner too long not to. I feel too young to start a family but also like my window is closing. I feel so far from achieving my dreams and also every once in a while I look around and realize I’ve been living them with my eyes closed.
SFI are literally scenes from this period of uncertainty and excitement. The symbolism of glass, shadows and reflections and flowers mark fragility, transparency and a looming deadline - but also renewal. The sun always comes up, turning something old and other things possible for the first time.
